Canacona boy, 11, dies from electrocution | Goa News

Canacona: An11-year-old boy, a resident of Bhatpal in Canacona, has died from electrocution at his home.

Police said that Samesh Gauder, the victim, was brought to the Canacona health centre on Saturday after he was hit by a jolt of electricity. The doctor on duty declared him brought dead. Police inquiry revealed that the boy was holding a mosquito net near an extension board, when he accidentally came in contact with a live wire and fell unconscious. The boy’s brother was flung by a shot of electricity when he attempted a rescue.Samesh was a Class VI student, sources said.After the inquest panchnama, police registered a case of unnatural death. The postmortem report said, “Death due to electric shock (electrocution)…leading to fatal cardiac arrhythmia.” Irregular heartbeat is known as arrhythmia.After the postmortem examination, the body was handed over to the family for conducting the last rites. Sub-inspector Ajith Velip is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Harish Raut Desai.
